Done:
https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/s...et/130496/ Pandora Ruins Interior
https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/s...et/130497/ Northtown Ruins Interior

Made a copy, erased the walls with the paint bucket (colour pink with 50% & 100% tolerance), changed palette and pasted it over the original image, with the pink being transparent.

All in all, it was less work than I thought.

Somedit uses the ZSNES palette, but the shadows are still rendered differently when exporting maps from Somedit and making screenshots within the emulator. So I looked more into it and realized that some areas use transparent overlays while others have them as darkened ground tiles or none at all. Therefore I decided to split the map and the effects layer.

https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/s...et/130662/ - Pandora Castle (Exterior, Shadow & Water Map)

Tasnica and Imperial Castle are next. By the way, every single imperial city (Northtown, Southtown, Gold City) and outer castle area (Tasnica, Imperial, Elinee, Pandora, Lighthouse) has serious palette problems just like the ruin tileset (Pandora, Northtown, Mandala) with single colours being erased by black. It's just a handful, so recolouring by hand with ZSNES screenshots as reference is no problem. It's still an issue within Somedit which will probably never get fixed.

At least I am able to rip the tilesets:
Due to the border around the tileset, the tiles on the left and the bottom are cut off by 2 pixels, therefore it needs some fixing.

I also expect to find a lot of unused stuff, like I have never seen these vulture statues in the game, not even TCRF has them on their list.

I have more, but I'm waiting with submissions until me and Ton find a way to declutter the map section. Assembled and disassembled maps as two sections is probably the way to go.

https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/s...et/130950/ Gaia's Navel Path (No Water & Grass)

These grass/water hybrids take the most time, since I have to cut out and combine different layers without screwing up palette & positioning. More tiles than I thought are having holes in them, so the dark green background colour can shine through.

And yes, the empty tiles on the cave map are normal, the Imperial Castle (Exterior) also has one black tile in an area that you can't normally see. On the other hand, the holes in Gaia's Navel (not the path) are visible, but you will never notice them, since the background colour is a dark green, so it blends in with the rest of the environment (two empty tiles with trees partially covering them).

https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/s...et/130994/ Todo Village (Exterior, No Ice & Glass)

More of the same.

These maps are kind of interesting, because Todo has normally two white tiles on his exterior map. After looking into the layers within Somedit, there are actually two variants what's behind them, with no. 1 being just a snow tile and part of a tree, and the second one (which makes more sense from a perspective kind of view) two borders of a wall. I decided in favor of the wall part to be on the map, even if it's completely unused.

You're not able to see the actual underground of the bushes on the Pandora Path, too. Even if you use the zsnes layer function, you won't see that actual grass tiles sit below them. The bushes itself are also tiles, but on a different layer and after contact with the sword, they "change" to the cut off bush tile (like you know it from Zelda 3). You just can't see this tile, because it needs a trigger (sword) to morph. This is why it's not even visible within Somedit.

More from Death Machine (JP):
All frames, all animations, all tiles. Now I just have to organize him and add the palettes for the lights (eyes, chainsaw, backpack). He randomly mirrors the upper part of his body when attacking.

There are a few codes that really come in handy when ripping from this game:

01D652:45
Erases whatever character attacks with a hand weapon from the game completely. They just vanish and you have one less party member.
7ECF01:01
7ECF01:00
Walk through walls. 1st code turns it on, 2nd turns it off.
7ECFB8:08
7ECFB9:08
7ECFBA:08
7ECFBB:08
7ECFBC:08
7ECFBD:08
7ECFBE:08
7ECFBF:08
9 orbs for every weapon you have, even the mana sword.
