The Great Ace Attorney (Dai Gyakuten Saiban) Mesh Outline Colors?

In the mainline series of Ace Attorney games, outline mesh colors are done rather simply. In AA5 - Dual Destinies, they're just black. In AA6, they are stored in a separate texture, like so:

However, in both Dai Gyakuten Saiban 1 and 2, there is no such texture. They're not all one color, either - just watching footage of the games you can see that each character has their own set of outline colors. I think this means the colors are generated programmatically and then applied to the meshes, but can anyone help me figure out where the color values are stored? All these games use MT Framework, if that helps.
