.DAE will not open in Blender, seems to be missing file paths in it
#1
I have a .dae file (not from this site) that won't open in Blender, the errors given in the system console indicate this is due to the paths for the texture files not existing. But is there any way I can get it to just ignore that and load the model without textures? I usually apply that stuff afterward anyway. This file opened fine in 3DS Max btw, but my license on that is expired so I can't use it.

I'm not quite sure if there is a way to bypass this in Blender, however it could be that the .DAE file is using exact paths instead of relative paths. If this is the case, you will need to get a text editor like Visual Studio Code (https://code.visualstudio.com/) or Notepad++ (https://notepad-plus-plus.org/) and go into the .DAE file to change the paths.
I recommend taking a look at the following thread and scrolling to the "Next you have to modify your .DAE" section. Follow their instructions and make sure to save the file, and then try importing it into Blender.

Best of luck!
