Survivalcraft .bitmapfont ripping
#1
I have been able to extract the Survivalcraft content.pak file all thanks to puggsoy and his extreme skills! I came across several formats for sound, texture, 3D model, etc. and this post is for researching the Survivalcraft .bitmapfont format. And here is a sample http://www.mediafire.com/file/9uu1qf85zq...BitmapFont Just please help me open this format and that would be greatly appreciated!  [Image: smile.png] [Image: smile.png] [Image: wink.png]

(PS the extension is .bitmapfont which makes me think that it is related to the .bmp extension)

As far as I know right now, is seems that it's not an image format with encryption, because Texture Finder can load it (This tool doesn't open images with encryption). Even if the image is not seen all properly (That's a problem of the tool).

I'll try to figure out the format.

OMG thanks! Puggsoy said that the QuickBMS script for the .PAK file does not extract the extensions.
Please check out my other survivalcraft ripping posts here!

Sorry, but I can't figure out what extension the files use. I have tried several header of some extensions like .bmp, .dds, .gxt, or formats like that, which Texture Finder can read, but I don't get it. Also, looking at Texture2D, seems that Texture Finder also find something, but this time, the tool didn't show a clearly image. So, as well as the bitmapfont, maybe these files only needs the appropiate header and extension, but nothing sure.
With my knowledge, I can't go far of this, sorry. Expect that someone else can help you with these files.

(Also, I tried to look at the sounds, but no luck)

Well everytime I make a post I usually only get 1 response and sometimes no responses. I would love to rip the formats myself but I don't understand how formats work. And how to make apps to open unknown formats of 3D models, sounds, textures, etc. do you have to write tons of c++ code to open an unknown format. I just want to know how I can make ways to open unknown formats of 3D models, sounds, textures, etc. I know one of the ways to open unknown archive formats is to use QuickBMS but what are ways I can make a way to open unknown file formats of different variations like 3D models, sounds, textures, etc. PLEASE HELP! There is no helpful information online on how I can make a way to open unknown file formats with unknown encoding. Basically I don't know how to make ripping tools for different file types like 3D models, sounds, textures, etc.
