Putting MEGA.nz links to my ripped files?
#1
Question
I'm just wondering if there are any rules against, or is it frowned upon to put MEGA.nz links in a post to link to some of your rips. I'm asking this so that files can be used by several users to get feedback, and not have to wait for the approval process to complete just to find out that I made several mistakes on my rips. I know it's fine to send very few files to an admin to get help on ripping, but is it fine to post links to work I've already finished? The biggest issue with this, and why I'm thinking it may be against the rules, is because someone may try to post files I've already submitted, and waste time for the admins. This is very important for me to know, so I don't make a terrible mistake, and get everyone mad at me.  Sad

I can't really speak for the submission team as I don't handle submissions, but I don't necessarily see an issue with this if your intention is to ask for community verification that your rips are up to the correct standards.
As long as you have documented forum proof that you were the ripper of these files (as in, if you can show us the correct forum thread that you posted your rips in and the timestamps predate any stolen duplicates) then there probably won't be any issues as far as reporting other people stealing your rips, if such a thing were to happen.
People post their WIPs for customs/rips intended for tSR all the time; I don't see why the same can't be done for the other resources.

If I were you I'd wait for someone who actually takes care of submissions to answer, but it'll probably be fine.

Yeah Viper's right; people do it all the time. I'd recommend it even, if you're new to ripping it's a good idea to get feedback on the forum to make sure you're on the right track.

If someone does end up stealing your rips you can show us that you posted them first. It does rarely seem to happen though.

I never actually thought about posting MEGA.nz links to my ripped files to gather feedback on them. That's a good idea, thanks for telling me about this, and that it is OK to do so. It'll take a while to get my links up though, as I have around 3.5 GB of audio, and that's just what I have sorted.  Blank

Thanks for telling me that it's OK to post MEGA.nz links. I was worried that if I did I may be breaking rules. Unfortunately, I don't have any files ready yet, so it'll be a while before I actually post any links. Sad
