PS2 Rip problems (History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi)
#1
Question
Hello everyone,

i tried hard to rip 2 character models from the PS2 game "History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi" because i need them as reference for my own character model i am creating atm.
I've got some results but still everything i rip is messed up.

-----------------------------
Things i tried:

So first i tried NinjaRipper combined with a PS2 emulator "PSX2 0.9.8" and versions above. The .rip files it created i loaded into 3Dsmax and tried to locate and
fix the model. But the mesh and textures were so messed up and wrong so i couldn't use it for anything.

Then i heared that PSX2 has a screenshot to OBJ function which only exist in version "0.9.8", but not in any other versions above.
So the game kept crashing with that old version until i found out a soulution in the options and managed to make the OBJ file
and import it into Blender. Unfortunately, even the model was better now, it still was a bunch of clunky and messy vertices after all.
Tried to fix the face normals but these were flipped randomly over the mesh, tried to remove doubles and merge the parts but
no use it was too messed up so i gave up on that.

-----------------------------

So i am out of ideas and i am really suprised that someone managed to get some models from the game here:
https://www.models-resource.com/playstat...lekenichi/

The models were ripped by "maver1k_XVII"
I am trying to rip the models from the characters "Natsu Tanimoto" and "Berserker". They were not ripped by maver1k_XVII,
but the fact that he managed to rip these models means that there has to be a way.
Does anyone know how he ripped the models from that game or a safer method to rip PS2 games in geneal?

Thanks in advance!
