Randomly stretched model problem(DS)
#1
Hi,

I'm currently ripping Dinosaur king DS using Console Tool and MKDS Course Modifier, some of the models are looking pretty fine in MKDS preview and whats previewed is same for Blender (as shown in the image 1).

However, other models in the same folder could have some parts misaligned especially the bottom region, as shown in image 2. These problematic models are quite random but it seems to have something to do with dino species (eg Theropods are alright, Sauropods are not), but not entirely. The 3rd and 4th image shows that both models (of image 1 & 2 respectively) looks alright in the preview for Console Tool.

Image 1: Proper Model 1 viewed in MKDS preview before export

Image 2: Problematic Model 2 as viewed in MKDS showing a stretched region

Image 3: Model 1 looks alright when previewed in Console Tool

Image 4: Model 2 looks alright when previewed in Console Tool but not for MKDS unlike Model 1

Before I mass export and import them to Blender, could I know what can be done to correct the ill proportions so that all the dinosaur models would be good to go. In addition, does anyone know how to rip from Jurassic World The Game and Jurassic Park Builder Mobile game. Thanks

Regards,
Animal Model

You can try using the DS model converter I'm working on here. It doesn't have a problem with that model (A_Acrocantsaurus). The way you'd use it to mass convert everything in the game is to run the commands

apicula.exe extract <PATH_TO_ROM> -o dino_files
apicula.exe convert dino_files/*.nsbmd -o dino_daes

and you should get a bunch of .dae files in the folder dino_daes. If you have any problems with a model, you can post in the thread in Project Organization and I'll try to figure out if I can fix it.

Hi Scurest, thanks for your help. For some reason, I can't get the programme running. I got this error:
[C] 'apicula.exe' is not recognisable as an internal or external command, operable programme or batch file[/C]
It is already same folder as the rom and nsbmd models tho

Make sure (1) the program file is actually named 'apicula.exe', and (2) the current working directory for the shell is the same folder where the program and the ROM are located.

Yup, both files are located in a folder named 'dinoking' in my desktop and it is named 'apicula.exe'. I'm using command prompt btw. Still cannot get it recognised. Clicking on the file informed me that VCruntime140.dll and C:\Windows\system32\nvinitx.ddl is missing from your computer, although I have c++ 2015 installed alr tho. Any assistance is appreciated. BTW, great programme, opens up many possibilities.

Hmm... You're sure the shell is in the right directory? You can check by running cd, which will print the current directory. You should get the same response from clicking the exe and running the command apicula.exe. Maybe try both the 32- and 64-bit executables and see if either works (I think you need the one that matches what version of the Redistributable package you have installed)?

Much thanks Scurest, these models look amazing. Although really low poly.

Btw, anyone know how may I upload the models? And are there any implications to upload like copyright infringement?
