[Tutorial] NES Sprite Capturing and Ripping
#1
Pretty sure I've posted these before (they are really damn old) but with the NES project under way could be of use to people.
One video covers capturing while the other covers ripping with tiles. They aren't advance as other techniques but they are definitely the easiest ways I know of.

Changing the FCEUX's config file (see in video description) removes the black background issue. It doesn't work if your using a game genie rom mind.

Also as great as animget can be - man that thing can quickly make a lot of screenshots...
Personally I'd rather spend a bit more time getting what I want with the way above then spending that time sorting through the 1000s of screenshots I might not need.

So had a PM about this and thought it was worth pointing out. As it says in the video description:

"Before running the emulator open the fceux.cfg file in wordpad and change gNoBGFillColor to have a value of 100. This will make the background pink instead of black, so sprites with black in them are no trouble at all!"

However, I don't know if it's later versions of FCEU-X (is there later versions?) or for some reason how Windows' Wordpad handles config files BUT it seems that sometimes changing this does, well, nothing...

Now if that is the case, luckily for you (and me) I uploaded FCEU-X with the working config file to my site many years ago.

Just go to https://retrogamezone.co.uk/tutorialvideos.htm and grab FCEU-X from there.

That page also contains great programs like ScreenTheif, Animget and a full (completely legal) version of Jasc Animation Shop 3. Basically, it's a pretty handy page.
