Rigged Model Ripping from PS2 in DAT and HED Help
#1
Hey there. So, I figured considering how many obscure games are able to be easily extracted with rigging in-tact, there must be some sort of overarching tool that works to extract data from the PS2 with some alternate methods or something. For me, I specifically have been looking for a way to rip rigged models from Cowboy Bebop: Serenade of Serenity for the PS2. I cannot seem to find any way to retrieve the rig itself, which considering how intricate the models are, including facial rigging and mouth rigging, is quite frustrating. After opening up the ISO, there seem to be 2 major files in both the DAT and HED format which I assume hold the models. Any suggestions to how to go about this? If I can figure this out, I would like to go through and transfer all the models here for everyone's use. I have attempted to manually extract with PSCX2 and TexMod, but honestly the results are not only subpar, it also has the added problem of being rigless. Suggestions on where to go from here?

Cheers,
ProjectAlpha

Is this the japanese version? If the archives arent over 1 gig, upload them to a host and link it here. Otherwise, ill grab the ISO and look for you.

Yeah, you'll have to grab it, the archives are well over 2 gigs from my calculations. Hopefully someone like you with a bit more experience can crack this thing open, so I can start taking out those sweet, sweet models. My hope is, if this gets figured out, to extract as much as possible from the game and upload it here. Hell, if it goes really smoothly, I may even take a crack at animating a short, something like an adaptation of a manga chapter. We'll see how it goes, but for now thank you for responding!
