I still want one of those. ): I see the games all the time and my wallet agrees with those; then I see the console's pricetag and then I have second thoughts. ):

galaxy fight and waku waku 7 are both great versus fighting games from sunsoft back when they were producing a lot of console games in the west. they are both available for the neo geo mvs/aes, sega saturn, and galaxy fight is on the PSX. there is also a ps2 game from japan that has them both. but i'd say it's easier to emulate them if you know your way around MAME. the arcade versions are probably the best experiences, and MAME is pretty easy to figure out these days. and hey, if you just so happen to own a neo geo AES, you could probably buy the cartridges and pop em in. you will likely ragequit with only 4 credits. xD

also, goemar would probably like the two rabbit-like girls in those games. i mean who doesn't. lol

sunsoft also made astra superstars. which tbh i think is a bit mediocre compared to the other two games. granted, they tried something new, like every other game company was doing at the time with their fighting games. but astra superstars is meh. it's available for saturn too if you're curious to try it out.

Galaxy Fight... Galaxy Fight... I'm sure I ripped a guy from that as a request...

I'm always surprised Waku Waku 7 isn't more well known, it's like the right kind of crazy looking.

Waku Waku 7 is one of the launch downloads for the Switch. So anyone is in luck if they want to check it out.
And indeed, you did rip a character from galaxy Fight.

Now on the subject of obscure games...

Loved this game when I was a kid, and still do. There's even a Christmas spinoff!

Honestly I see klonoa as obscure, though nowadays I'm starting to see more people sorta know him, it's a shame that most of the 3d games in the series are a pain to rip from, everything looks so beautiful and the storya always left me on the edge, the puzzles got pretty nasty too. But make for a good challenge.
Also known as Aishi.
Agent 3, you may be an annoying dark souls incarnation of a boss but i swear to all things holy and graceful i love you, you edgy son of a blowfish!

Phantom 2040 is one of those Super Nintendo gems that I feel kinda flew under the radar. Probably because it's a licensed game based off an only mildly successful cartoon show that was basically like Batman Beyond for The Phantom, except way before Batman Beyond was a thing!

Uh anyway even though I've never seen the show this game kicks all of the ass forever. It's got a bit of a Mega Man mixed with Metroid feel to it. Most of your weapons consume energy, though you can always use your fists (and you can even grab dudes to use as a human shield while shooting, which is awesome), and you have a grapple that can connect to pretty much anything, which you can use to scale walls and swing across gaps. You play through a variety of levels, collecting upgrades (including increasing the length of your grapple!) and new weapons, and can use them to revisit old areas and reach new places, but what's really cool is that there's actually a number of branching paths throughout the game, including in the very first level! You can either go left into the burning building, and rescue someone in order to get a keycard that lets you reach an otherwise inaccessible area in the next level, or you can go right, fight a boss, and earn a new weapon way early. The game even has multiple endings!

And if you've never seen the show like I haven't, the Phantom's lair actually has a database full of information on characters and the setting that you can read up on at just about any time. Top it all off with a cool artstyle and some awesome music and it's a damn fine game.

One of my favorite platformers of all time, despite being a little slippery in the controls. But it's a great combination of Sonic (running pretty fast and spin jumping), Zelda (sword, duh), and Metroid (getting new abilities)!

Jersey Devil for PS1. It may not have been the best game, but it had a brilliantly creepy atmosphere and music. Great for Halloween!

Mario Super Sluggers

Never released in Europe or Australia (Only came out in US & Japan), Only Mario spinoff game to have the Kremlings (As a DKC fan this game gets +10 points from that alone), An adventure story mode,
not to mention fantastic music:

Real shame it isn't remembered very much. But as I said it only came out it US & Japan so that probably has to do with it.
Does anybody else have fond memories of this game Question Block
