Bit Trip Presents Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien
#1
So I've seen the models ripped from this game on the site, but ever since CommanderVideo was released, there's not been anything else. I've wanted to rip from this game myself as I have all the DLC and I would really like to get the Quote model and Dr. Fetus model. I was hoping RTB would release his script of how to do so, but if he has I can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know how to properly rip this game?

Honestly I've been trying to figure out ripping from BIT.TRIP in general. Excluding Runner3, they all run on Atrophy, a custom game engine made by Choice Provisions themselves where most assets are in .ae(something) files, like models have the .aescn file extension. (There's a good chance you're already aware of this, but I figure I'd explain to anyone passing by.)

I was planning on just brute-forcing asset extraction for the main BIT.TRIP games with a general 3D-screenshot sort of tool like 3DVia Printscreen. I might even resort to just remaking the models and textures by hand; with how blocky they are, it probably would be feasible to make something with a respectable degree of accuracy.

Printscreen and the like is probably our best shot with Runner2 at the moment. It would be nice if RTB bestowed upon us his wisdom, but the guy is probably busy as all get out and I'd hate to be rude... and this whole reply might be pointless rambling on my part; you might just be interested in Runner2 specifically, or you may never even see this comment. But hey, if you're interested, I'll let you know if I come up with anything for the mainline series. It could give us some insight that'll be useful.

Would be intrested in seeing the models for the DLC characters.

It's likely that in order to get those models, we have to figure out how to convert .AESCN files to formats more easily readable.
