Ian, do you actually read the threads you reply to? I made this as explicit as it can possibly be like four posts before you asked that.

In case that's not clear though, requests are only allowed on the forum in the specific requests section. They are not allowed (nor have they ever been allowed) anywhere else on the entire network. Not the site, not other sections of the forum, not by email. Literally only there.

Yes, I do.

I just wanted to make sure that everything was 100% true.

My dad has this YES/NO Policy that requires someone to answer either "YES" or "NO".

I understand that requests are not allowed (nor have they ever been allowed) anywhere else on the entire network and that they are only allowed on the forum in the specific requests section. Not the site, not other sections of the forum, not by email.

But... what about through PM (Private Messaging) systems?

and just to clear things up, we're allowed to post general thoughts that are relevant to whatever page we're on, right?

I know that.

As I stated: I wanted to make sure that everything was 100% confirmed.

Of course. That's what comments are for. Just not requests or memes/played out jokes. There was just too much of that going on and it was ruining the comments as a whole.

Hounding people directly (which is what requests through PM always turn into) never goes well so no, requests are also not allowed via PM unless someone specifically asks you to PM them details.

i'm 100% on board with this decision! i'm not an expert with website stuff, but i can empathize with the fact that getting multiple messages in an inbox (a la email) at once is already annoying. filling that inbox with pointless spam and annoying crap won't make it any more manageable.

i assume *someone* who helps run the site gets notifications for comments on pages?

So I guess in short, even though there's a Request Sub-Forum here in the forum, Requests are not allowed anywhere else? Is that correct?

Yes Ian. The only place anybody is allowed to make requests on the entire site is in the Requests subforum. That's literally all.

Ok, that's all I wanted to know.

Thank you for your time.

And I'll be more careful of what comments I post on the website.

Prove it then. Just saying you'll be more careful isn't going to cut it.  Wink
