Hi, I'm Mr. Conehead. Last night, I hit the jackpot when I was going through my copy of Ace Combat 04 and found 192 sound effects through using a software called PSound. I decided to make an account here so I can share these sound files for everyone to enjoy! Interestingly, I don't know if I am the first one to find this, but the first sound titled "BD_00000" is a hidden pac-man death sound. I'm guessing that Namco made this easter egg for all of the sound rippers out there, or theoretically, it could be played in game through a cheat code we have never seen in its past 15 years of existence. I also found many other sounds, such as some hydraulic sounds, some high pitched copies of existing sounds, the menu sounds such as the select sounds, radio noise, and engine sounds. You may be thinking; "Why would you do this?", "Is this illegal?", "Don't you risk accidentally deleting stuff off the disk, and "How did you do this? I want to do the same!" The reason I did this was because that I couldn't find a single perfect Ace Combat sound effect on any website, so I decided to do this on my own. Is this illegal? I have really no idea, but I hope this won't violate Namco's copyrights. You actually can't tamper any of the files on the disk due to the fact that the disk has SCEA protection. You can rip sounds off of any game using a software called "PSound". Just download the program and insert your PS2 DVD-ROM into your optical disc drive, and scan all of the files for sounds. You can then copy these sounds to your hard drive and save them as .wav files.
Here are some tweets i posted during my audio ripping:

Also, when I was looking through some files, I found one file... ehh... I forgot what it was called... I know it had a 12 at the end. I think it was audio for the interludes; I found out that the file had 66,666 KB of data. Yeah, really creepy... I think this might be another easter egg too.

Welcome! Yes, this is very doable, and there's ways to bypass the SCEA protection, but anyways glad you ripped them! And, if the dev's either cared enough or are annoyed enough to bother, we'll be simply asked to take them down, which we're more than happy to do. Welcome! and enjoy your stay! If you have any questions, feel free to PM a staff member! Enjoy your stay!
