I want to improve spriting and am looking for constructive criticism
#1
So I make sprites online and I am decent and I want to improve. I make sprites of sizes generally 64 x 64 and higher. Any constructive criticism is great.  I have examples of my work below. I have a deviantART as well with a hundred other sprites at http://driedmanjello.deviantart.com/ Thanks.

These look pretty good, although this is kinda in the wrong section, I think.

The one issue about these that does stand-out to me is some of your curves don't seem quite right.

alright. How would a person fix these curves? Making them more round, less jagged ,etc?

one problem I can point out is simply not enough contrast, it's hard to determine the 3D aspects of your sprites because the shades blend too easily

I agree with Hiynastrike. Everything in the sprite seems to be more or less neutral colors.

In addition, I think you need to work on the color of your outlines. On the first sprite and last two, the black outlines on the inside of the sprite make it difficult to tell what is going on with the drawing. I would recommend using a darker shade of the interior color for the lines of the sprite instead of black outlines.

So make the shading darker and more prominent?

Alright. Thanks. Will do Smile

I took all of the comments to heart and changed a sprite I made today. The before and after is pretty cool. A thanks to everybody pointing these things things out. Without you guys I probably would never have Identified these problems.
