3D Modelling
Hey there, I seem to remember there being a Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie section on TMR but with quite a few more models. specifically one of Gruntilda from Banjo Kazooie, but it was removed for unknown reasons.

Anyway, I was hoping someone could rip some models for me. Preferably in T-Pose.

1: Gruntilda (Both Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie versions)
2: Klungo (Banjo-Tooie version.)
3: The Hag-1 (Banjo-Tooie)
4: Gruntilda's Beauty-Swap Machine. (Banjo Kazooie, Doors Down.)
5: Mingy-Jongo (Banjo Tooie, Fully Revealed)

Banjo-Kazooie is a really, really easy game to rip. Thanks to a modding tool called "Banjo's Backpack", which can export the models as .obj. Sadly, dunno how to do Banjo-Tooie.

Of course, the .obj exports need some fixes to look right.

I could do some for BK, but It'll take a bit.

All right, Gruntilda is my primary concern. If you can manage that, thanks!

Most of Grunty is vertex shaded, so I had to use flat textures instead.

Dunno if it's good enough to be posted on the Models Resource, though.

Only way to find out is by posting the model files themselves and having Peardian take a look. Wink

Uploaded to the Models resource, going to wait for it to be approved, then.

You should link the model here or in a showreel thread, too. There's people other than Peardian who could verify whether or not the model is usable. And besides, Carpaccio personally requested the model(s) so it seems silly to wait until it's been dealt with through the submission system before allowing them to use it.

Might as well link it here, then. Pretty sure it works fine, I assume.

I got sorta lazy with the texture names.

So does this only work for Banjo-Kazooie, and characters only?

Yes, the exporter currently only works for Banjo-Kazooie. It is possible to use the VRML exporting plugin to get Banjo-Tooie stuff, but it's really long and tedious if done that way.

I think a showreel is a great idea.Mostly because I'd love to see more BK rips.

Yeah. Banjo-Tooie now has a setup viewer, so I can rip most models. Not all of them, though, due the program not being finished.

Could you link me to the two programs then?

Both can be found on the Banjo-Kazooie Romhacking tools site.

Banjo's Backpack page

They both require the actual games, but you should know where to find 'em. Banjo-Tooie will also need to be byte swapped, depending on the dump.

Subdrag's GoldenEye Object format (Not to be confused with .obj) to FBX converter will also needed to be used to export vertex shading. As that's the file format these tools export to.

There's also a really rough DK64 model viewer (Known as Cranky's Lab, now). But it isn't worth looking into until it's all fixed up.

Ripping models from N64 games tend to be a bit difficult, but I'm sure you can get a hang of it.
