Computer bluescreened over night.
#1
Computer blue screened at some point over night while I was running some diagnostic stuff. It was a dull hum when I got up. I didn't get an error message so I'm not sure what happened, but it took a really long time to start up. Anyone got an idea what could have caused it? I think I had it running defraggler.

I'm still trying to figure out if there was any damage. It seems to be running alright minus the slow startup but that might be because it had attempted to save a few things like my place in firefox.

Without the error from the blue screen, it is nearly impossible to diagnose your problem. The most common cause I've seen is a video driver crash but that's a shot in the dark without any other details. If you know around what time it happened, you may be able to grab a detailed message from the event viewer but you'd really need to know what you're looking for.

The Reliability Monitor said it just didn't properly shut down. So, I guessssss I'm alright...

Apparently it happened at 2:59 AM.

Kernel-Power error. I think Defraggler may have just screwed up.

Apparently there was a lot of rain while I was asleep so it could be weather but my computer was still on when I woke up, just humming and not connected to mouse, keyboard or monitors.

Kernel-Power errors are often the result of driver crashes but it definitely could have been Defraggler. Manual defragging shouldn't be necessary - in almost all cases, Windows 7 and up are set to do it automatically and in the background. And if you have an SSD, not only is defragging not necessary, it's also potentially damaging to the drive.

Don't have an SSD. I remember my brother telling me about that when he got one. He's better at this stuff. I didn't know 7 did it automatically. That's pretty neat.
