.awb files
#1
I'm trying to rip some sound files from a game. After extracting the cpk files I got myself some files in awb format.

I've looked on the internet pointing me to extract the file to several hca files which I can convert to wav. However for some reason I can't extract the awb files.

I've tried the utf_tab07b6_special, however it gave me an error saying cpk signature not found.
I've also tried quickbms, however it gave me a list of dat files. I don't know if I can rename these to hca and continue, but that doesn't sound possible.

So yeah I'm basically at lost of what I should do over here, I've tried every single things suggested on the internet and haven't found a solution yet. So any help would be appreciated.

If you can upload a couple of these then we can take a look.

The .acb might be useful. I can see what you mean about the .dat files when you extract with QuickBMS, other .awb files usually give .hca. The script extracts it correctly though, it covers 100% of the file and doesn't give any errors.

This is the .acb file extracted along with the .awb: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxGbIfz...sp=sharing
I've also uploaded the .sdk file. Although it is an .sdk.bytes it is extractable by CriPak Tools: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxGbIfz...sp=sharing

I don't know if being an .sdk.bytes instead of .sdk will affect anything though.

Hi, I intend to listen bgm of super robot war Z3 recently, and I met the similar problem as yours. This is the header of these .dat files : 80 00 08 04 03 12 04 02 00 00 BB 80 00 38 50 09. I can see "CRI" in 010 editor, and I also see "adx" when draging them into criatomplayer. According to ADX wiki (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADX_(file_...X_Decoding), I know these .dat files are probably .adx files encoded as standard adx. I'm trying to find a software to edit them. Both HCA and ADX are produced by CRI. I am not sure your issue are the same one, but I suggest you check the header firstly.

Well, I rename these .dat to .adx, and convert them into wav using ADXconvertor1.3 (posted in http://game.ali213.net/thread-2930199-1-1.html, the three winRAR file, directly click and download). Result: OK. Hope this help to solve your problem.

thanks for the help. I tried renaming and using the converter as well, but the converter didn't give me any files. It ran without any problems and no errors, but when it is done I don't see any files in the destination folder.
