Game Design Survey: Choosing Perspective
#16
I can definitely assure you guys we're aiming to get people really attached to the characters, even with all their flaws. I can also assure you that each character will play differently. Not only would you be choosing a character's experience, but you're also choosing a class essentially. For World of Chaos 1: The Jewels of Life, for example, you'd have a choice between Koh the Spellblade, Tipton the Ranger, Skale the Treasure Hunter and Madoshi the Sage (in training). So naturally the abilities and weapon choices you have at your disposal would vary across the characters, thus also affecting the playstyle for each character. But we're also thinking of some ways to add some navigational abilities to the latter three. Like perhaps Tipton's able to curl into his shell when he dodge rolls, which can also let him slide under tight spots.

It probably ain't what you're looking for since none of the characters have any real characterization, but this talk reminds me of Rogue Legacy.
