Ai (Animal Crossing) Sprites
#1

Something I'm making because nobody else did.
Credit goes to t0ms0nic off DeviantART for the Villager sprite base I used.

Should I make more?

EDIT: I just realized I posted in the wrong forum... Could anyone move this to the Custom Sprites section?

Yes, Add more please. Because the sprites are well-designed.

The colors, specifically the skin color, seem a little dark for Animal Crossing.

Always good to see this often forgotten franchise receiving sprites.

The character known as "Ai" is a movie character who doesn't have the triangular orange nose and instead has a black dot in that place. I don't know whether you knew this or not but just for reference.

If you are keeping the orange triangle nose I'd suggest making the nose thinner, it stands out too much from the face. Maybe tone down the two sparkles in the eyes...you could make the lower sparkle grey instead of white. Will still have the intended effect but won't be as bright.

Update with brighter skin and 2 nose types, One is more like her appearance in the movie and the other is the typical AC orange nose players have but smaller.

Tell me which one you think looks better.

Looking good so far...some suggestions below:

If you are going to use outlines I'd consider using it all over, for instance all around the hair. It is up to you personally what you want to do but it is usually good to have the outline style consistent all over.

On the bottom row, with the third image, the right eye needs to match the left. I appreciate you tried to make it that way because the face is at a 3 quarter angle, but you can't leave the white center/pupil of the eye exposed or it will look strange. You could even copy the iris of the left eye and paste it on top of the right one. (From this point you may or may not want to slightly edit it so it isn't absolutely identical, but whether this matters is up to you, I think it is probably fine).

I also think the tuft of hair on the right side could be shorter (like 3 pixels shorter) because of the perspective you have going.
