It's weird to represent yourself as a Total Drama fan?

I don't know how that's any more weird than representing oneself as a Sonic fan, or a Puyo Puyo fan, or a Kirby fan.

I don't know, it's probably just the snug face that seemed a bit irritating (which again, was kind of what he was to be honest)
But hey opinions, he did seem like he had legit issues. And it did seem to me that he did try, but perhaps he really just had no clue how to help himself.

I'm pretty sure Lilothestitch had autism or something similar. I feel like he even mentioned it before.

Don't get me wrong, that doesn't force you to be as irritating as he was, but it can make things slightly more challenging.

Like, he's PM'd me before, asking how to get a positive reputation. He asked about how to be a good member in his "Goodbye" thread. He just couldn't figure things out, and it caught up to him. Pretty sad, really.

Well in the case of the triangle guy he never got banned or did anything wrong, he just had a weird obsession with triangles.

Yeah but c'mon man... this is Total Drama Island we're talking about here.

I tend to feel sorry for people who use "it's my style" or "artistic liberties" as defense for not taking critique, because they severely limit any potential that they may have towards improving. Though when they prove themselves to be self-righteous compliment-seekers, I have little sympathy for them. I mean, I enjoy seeing people who are passionate about improving and constantly want to better themselves, though I don't tend to show it much.

I also feel generally offput by those who relegate themselves to only doing fanwork; While I'd like to help give c+c on most work, I can't bring myself to be invested in anymore Sonic, Mario, Zelda, etc. sprites enough to give honest critique despite that being a common place where I'm sure most, if not all, of us started in the first place.

I don't have anyone in particular that comes to mind when it comes to pity or feeling directly sorry for, partially because it'd be arrogant to put myself above people who are in a different stage of their own personal growth, and also because I don't like to focus on things that could've been when it's all a closed book anyways. Yeah, some members have been nuisances and I've griped when some have gotten on my nerves, but after the fact I'd rather focus more on the present and the positives.

About this triangle guy, do you mean Root?

Also I feel bad for myself when I intentionally make a joke about Kamen Rider that I know is Akira and everyone favebombs the person who corrects me and then I say "nuh uh" and then one guy makes a backpeddaling joke on my original joke that wasn't actually a backpedal and everyone favebombs him too and then it makes me look even more dumb when that wasn't the point originally and now it ends up looking like I was backpedalling but I wasn't and now I wish I never made the joke in the first place but then everyone posts over me not retort because of some dumb topic counter about not arguing for 30 days or something and I have no choice but to suck it up and move on looking like a chuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuump.

Why would you come to those conclusions? What if he was just a strange person with strange tastes? "Eerie" what's so eerie about liking triangles? What if he was autistic?

I make a topic about members we felt sorry for and all I'm hearing is people bringing up members they're glad got banned.

You guys remember Rystar?

http://www.vg-resource.com/user-28690.html

Sure, he's a bit rough around the edges, but he's actually a smart and caring member once you get to know him. In fact, considering how he act and what he's been through, he's very similar to me. It's a shame that he felt like he wasn't welcome on the site and to the staff. If he stuck around, I'm certain he'd make a fine addition to this site.

Thankfully, I occasionally keep in touch with him through Skype where he's always a pleasure to talk to.

it's ok to suck, sucking is not bad, just try and aim to always do your best!

It's not that I'm glad he got banned, it's more like 'eh whatever, nothing of value was lost'.

I find it extremely unsettling to be addicted to triangles and bring it up every time you posted. This is a community, we need to respect others when posting and we don't want to hear about triangles all the bloody time. This is what I mean by 'respecting my own rights while modding'.

Unfortunately the internet is indeed full of people with problems, and believe me, I try to help them, either by talking, befriending and teaching how to act. Nowadays I'm really busy and I don't visit tVGR as much as I visited before, but I still cherish all the moments and love all the friends I've gathered here. However I can't feel sorry for a person who acts weirdly and talks to himself in a community.

I can shoot back the question you did to me: Why would you come to those conclusions that he was a weird person with weird tastes? What if he was really a troll? We may never know but this is a community and we won't allow for exceptions if the member will disrupt peace and be an annoyance overall.

Also Iceman, it's not a joke if it isnt funny :-)

(I'm joking ok don't be offended, I'll pay you a beer when I'm out of class)

One old member who especially stuck out to me was Plasma Trooper. Gonna get a bit deep and personal here for a sec.

Most people seemed to believe that she (?) was a fake, and while I'm not saying I necessarily believe she was for real (I really hope she wasn't), seeing her talk about her life circumstances really hit home hard. If there is anybody I deeply, truly feel sorry for, it is anybody who grew up/is growing up living a sheltered life, especially through their teen years. I genuinely think it's one of the biggest life challenges out there. But I won't go on a tangent about that. Either way, it pained me to see someone else like that. If she was real, I wish she hadn't been scared off by the toxicity of the old memberbase because I can tell you from experience that any form of socialization, virtual or not, can ultimately change or even save your life at some point, as long as you're smart about it of course.

I knew you were joking, for the record.

Rystar was pretty cool after I talked to him a bit. I wasn't around when he left, so I don't understand the circumstances of the leave, but eh.

Gors is only unsettled by him because he's confirmed Illuminati to so many triangles

To be clear, the phrase "back pedalling" brings up horrible emotion in me because of the old less pleasant days where it was basically used on me all the time. Still can't get over that. :V
