Looking for help with Model Renders

Hey folks,

I've come to realise that over the last few weeks, I'm never going to get the vast quantity of models requiring large preview icons down without some help. Peardian is currently too busy to help, and that just leaves me... And I already have a lot on my plate.

Would anybody be willing to volunteer to help out with renders? I have a system in place that will allow you to download a model quickly, and then upload the icon straight away:


I'd need to give your account access to the page. I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer, as it currently stands that 5150 models need icons. Which means that, including new models accepted since the site relaunch, we have done 1550...

I may devote some time to this, i have a question though Dazz will this list only the models that need these nice Big Icon Renders?

That's right; as an icon is uploaded, it is removed from the list.

you know what i guess i will join in on this Model Rendering mission, it will take awhile though, since i have school even though the course i'm taking is not that extensive, and i find the homework pretty easy. (So yeah i guess i will help)

also just let me know when i can start making these icons is all and when i can start uploading them

I think I'll be able to set up an entire scene for most of the models and batch-render them in one sitting. is there a link to the large icon format?

You could also try out Quick Icon c:

You have to consider how many models don't use the same format, how each is a different scale, and how with .obj you have to attach textures yourself...

By the by, I've been wondering this for a while now, are you allowed to spice up icons and preview pictures so that the models look a tad more attractive?
