Got dang it, I really want a 3DS. I never finished the original version, but I always loved this game. The breeding system was amazing. The first game was already remade for the 3DS last year (

They never even released the first Dragon Warrior Quest Monsters remake for the 3DS!
I loved those games for the Gameboy Color. I loved the idea of different civilizations living in different kinds of trees. I love being able to breed different kinds of Monsters and getting new and unexpected ones. lot's of great ideas and funny things in those games.

Exactly! That's one thing that always bothered me about Pokemon. You get the same monster every single time you breed. On Dragon Quest, you not only get a different species (if you aren't breeding two of the same), but also a more powerful monster. I'm not sure how strong a +99 Slime would be though; I never took it THAT far XD.

this is actually the only dragon quest game i've ever played (though ive never finished it); i own the tara's adventure version but idk where it is
i might have to grab this at some point when it comes out
I really like the first one. I tried to get into DQM Joker, but I really didn't like it. I hope the remake doesn't take much from the latter games.

The remake of the first DWM took a lot from them so expect to see that here

I didn't mind Joker. Joker 2 improved upon the first one a lot, but other than that, they felt the same to me. I sort of prefer the scouting system over the meat system, purely because that stuff didn't stack, and took up a lot of inventory space.
