Axel High Poly MMD project

Hello, I'm new. Also very new to this modelling stuff (but it's so addicting). Seeing as I couldn't find a high poly PMD of Axel from Kingdom Hearts I thought "hey, why not convert one myself?"

I downloaded the SMD file and followed a bunch of tutorials but each time something goes wrong with the texturing... Here's what I've been able to achieve.

First attempt
Second Attempt
Third Attempt

and my latest try at this looks like the first one again. I've exported them as .x .pmd and .pmx and have tried them all with no success. Importing the SMD, saving it as a blender file, re-opening it and exporting it as a PMX gave me the best (?) result (the third picture). I've tried in both PMD and PMX editor. If anyone has any idea of what could be going wrong, please help a girl out?

really not sure, most of the time, I just open the obj file on blender then convert it to X
do you wanna convert it with bones or just mesh?

I did convert axel to PMD with Bones here: http://geekkeeper.deviantart.com/art/Kin...1371624564

MMD Motions won't work with this bone names...

If I ever get to converting it right I'd hope to be with the bones intact. Ah, thanks for the link though! Looks good (and sorry for the late reply)
