What makes me even angrier is how I'll see friends on Facebook use this to put out how God is the one to follow and it absolutely sickens me.

im not religious and

i agree with you to an extent, but some people just need something to cope with in situations like this

religion in its purest form, what it really should be, is a really awesome concept in general. tons of people need that.

I agree with orgasmatron. The true reason of religion is to give people peace of mind, a god to rely on when shit happens: it has a great power in our minds because it kind of prepares you to psychological shocks and stuff. The god I'm talking about doesn't necessarily be the christian god: anything can be used for this effect. Heck, you could even say that unicorns help you mentally.

This because the basis never changes, despite there being so many different religions. This being said, it is never good to force things such as these to others, PRINCIPALLY when our emotionals are shaken up with tragedies like those, imo. It doesn't matter if you believe in a robed bearded man or some supernatural man with a jackal head, or if you don't believe in anything at all: having empathy to the ones lost in this happening and also to the viewers is the main point.

This sickened me a lot when I saw on TV, I hope the responsible for this is punished. I don't have relatives or anything in boston, but a loss of people, mainly in such an idiotic action like this, really saddens me.

Saw this on TV pretty much right after it happened. It's horrible, as Gors said I hope they find who did this and give them a fitting punishment.

My thoughts are with all the injured and the families of those who died.

It's not outside the realm of possibility, but NK being behind an attack such as this isn't all that likely.

Realistically, it's much more likely that a domestic terrorist (multiple domestic terrorists?) or jihadis are behind it. This particular attack seems more like something a domestic terrorist would do, but who knows.

Being afraid of North Korea attacking any country in general is like being afraid of a 5-year old who says he knows karate.

Or a troll who enjoys the thrill of bashing you verbally on the net.

Nonetheless, it's really doubtful that NK managed to pull this off. Sure it's possible, but if it were then they wouldn't have wasted their time trying to nuke other countries and failing miserably at it.

That being said there's really only three possibilities out of who is behind it, and it's likely the Taliban. The other two in the latter could possibly be a Domestic terrorist or Russia. (The only reason why I'm putting this one as a possibility is because Russia and America don't get along with each other. Chances are, this is somewhat of a possibility but I'm not going to set it in stone at all)

All that is said with the little evidence the FBI has, there's a lot of good speculation about the ordeal. You can't deny any possibilities and you can't set anything in stone.

I find it interesting how BBC News (I haven't looked at any others yet) seems to include the fact that it happened on Patriots Day.
It's also a long shot, but there is a possibility it could be terrorists who want Britain to still rule America. This again is unlikely as it has been 200 odd years since Massachusetts gained independence, and the reason there was so much upset in Ireland about independence is that it has/is an ongoing issue.

What sickens me most is that they said one of the casualties was an 8-year old boy who, only the day before, was photographed holding a piece of paper he'd made telling people not to kill each other. He went to cheer on his dad for what should have been a joyous occasion. Does he make it home? No. He gets killed by a friggin' bomb. The intolerance and brutality of some people is simply awful.

people are wondering why someone would do things like this but
the truth of the matter is that most of those who do these kinds of things are just outright heartless and evil, with or without motive so we'll usually never really find much of an explanation other than that, as unfortunate as it is. whatever the reason is, it definitely isn't worth causing such a catastrophe over.
otherwise this is just plain awful like every other tragedy that seems to be happening lately, and we can only hope that those affected will find the strength to move on soon.

Sure, we can ask ourselves why it happened and why it had to happen in that place. It doesn't change the fact it was done.

Even if someone claims responsibility we're never going to get a straight answer. We just know that it was an act of evil and there will never be a true way to explain it.

The whole situation is awful in Boston. I can't stand how cowardly the people who do these kind of things are. The thing is though, as awful as it is, if you let things like this scare you out of doing something, such as running in a marathon, then the cowards who do these kind of things have won.

Technically if you don't agree with any religion, that makes you an athiest. Which, by the way, is considered religion. Just saying.
