thats kinda what i'm doing with mine, cept it's just one picture per chapter and i write a mini fanfic to go along with the rest. so far i've done 2 of them, i've already taken the photographs for at least four more chapters but I write the things as I go so i have no idea how each chapter will really turn out in the end.

oh yea what game are you doing? i'm doing ace combat myself and its going fairly well but there is just one issue i'm stuck on. i'm not sure if it would be ok to use models from other game companies in the comic.

also this is the only person I found who did somthing similar

heh it's kinda a fanfic, useing Tron Legacy as the main focus, Rinzler and Tron become separate beings and escape onto the internet, then useing the internet they are able to go to different digital worlds. such as Lyoko from Code Lyoko, the Digital World from Digimon, The World:RX from .Hack//Link, possibly The World Of Warcraft if I can find a model to represent Tron, I'm planning on haveing Rinzler as a Worgen or a hord equivilant of a Worgen. I make the prieve pics useing Miku Miku Dance, and i release the models I put together with each chapter (so far i'm not finnished with recoloring the stages for the proglog so it might take a while to get it all finished) I wan't to add more digital realms but i can't think of any other ones so far. baseically rinzler's going around trying to kill all the Users "humans" and Tron's trying to stop him.

while I don't have any animation up of the Tron Legacy fic, I do have this animation of the Grey Fox model
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMRkCoWbpn4
which is the base for, the Tron, Clu2,Rinzler, Spiderman, and Ironman models i've made by changed the textures.
I can't believe the virsitility of this one model. if not for Zerox, and Shadowlth117 there would'nt be these hilarious videos
(how do you get the youtube box to appear in here?)[/php]

thats cool whats brawls poly count anyway?

in my own project i'm not sure if I could use models from other companies unrelated to namco. I know EA dosn't allow it

Most games including Brawl don't have a specific polycount for their models, but they usually have a general number they stick around. For Brawl character models, I believe its around 9-10 thousand polys. I'm not sure about assist trophies, but I think they're around half to 3/4's the character poly average.

It also depends on where and how the models are intended to be used. The Alloys are fairly low-poly, because they're intended to be on the screen 5-at-a-time while keeping the framerate smooth.

Rather than make a new topic; I guess I'll just post in here with my question. Cutec

I see a lot of people in this forum with neat modeled avatars (probably their ripped work from games they're hacking) and I kinda have the same idea - like, I wanna make a neato avatar or sig and I don't want to get into super duper modeling and spend $500something on a program that its only use is to pose models :\

having that said, is there any very basic free/shareware program available for just repositioning ripped t-model .obj models into all sorts of zany poses and whatnot?

Or am I going to have to throw down the money for Maya3D or something >:

Well if you wanted to do something quick you could just download the trial for one of the big name ones since they are essentially the full program for 30 days, but if you want something you'll be able to mess with later than you should probably grab Blender. While its got a bit of a learning curve, its undoubtedly the best free 3D software so you'll be able to do a lot with it. There might be other programs that are simpler and good for getting a poor quality (Bad lighting, no specularity or other details) render, but if you want an avatar/sig that looks somewhat nice you are probably going to want to use Blender.

Alternatively, you could get someone here to do something for you if you like. Personally, I don't know how fast I'd be able to do it with school taking up a fair amount of my time at the moment, but I could try and get something together for you if you gave me a general idea or something.

Still, if you're determined to do this yourself it might help to know that .obj files don't have bones and so would require you to rig them in order for you to pose them easily.

Most Autodesk programs are free to students. Just go to download one and say your a student. Simple!

Ummm... Are you sure that's legal, Mikey? If he was an actual student, that would actually work out.
