THQ Wii Game files
#1
Hey all - I' trying to extract some models from a THQ game and having trouble identifying the files.

Can anyone tell me about the fev, fsb or rev file as far as where the models might be located and how to extract?

Based on some file names is seems the models might be packed in the rev files but I cant find any info on them - which might be I'm assuming wrong. Not sure but thought I read that fsb have audio.

Any info appreciated.. thanx!

it would help if you could tell us the name of the game. we can't really help just knowing that it's a THQ game. Tongue

Right - the game is Puss n Boots and the above image is viewing the file structure of the ISO in Dolphin

FSB and FEV can be opened with the FMOD tools

as for the models, I'd rip them using DX Ripper, often times characters ripped with DX Ripper (NOT 3D Ripper DX) are in a tpose which is just as good.

yeah - it's faster/easier to just extract the model/textures directly like Noesis or Umodel. But if thats what i have to use (DX ripper type) then so be it .

Thanx for the nfo!

From what I have seen, most games on the Wii not produced by Nintendo will likely use their own proprietary model format (which means no Noesis/any other viewer support). Hence why 3D Ripper is usually the best option for them.

You're best of using Ninja ripper, the new and improved version of DX Ripper. Includes a 3ds Max import script.
To use it with dolphin you need to set the ripper to d3d11 and dolphin's graphic setting to DX11
