lovin' that felix, dude!
i love how his hat bounces when he takes out his hammer! his running animation is really fluid, except for maybe the legs, but I can't place my finger on it.
i might remove a frame or two when he takes out the hammer though, it seems a bit too slow. otherwise, it's quite.... turbotastic. ;D
and there's always more

HARK, A BACKSTORY

I was looking in the dA topic and noticed one sprite that caught my eye, which is the black and (light gray) white sprite in the top left. I then reworked it into a puzzle-platformer style, with special block types. basically, the blocks with screws in the corners can be pushed, but those without cannot.

These are cute, but that mario's colours could use more contrast. I didn't even notice there were two skin tones until I zoomed in and the third red isn't really necessary (the reds could have stronger contrast, too). Oh and the blues, there's two of them too, but again i didn't notice that at all until I zoomed.
I don't think you need that extra shade for the block's corners, either, but could just reuse the main colour.

The mischievous look of him tells me he's up to crash Bowser's birthday party.

upped the contrast on the colors, added Luigi, and took away the corner colors on the blocks.

...not much to say about these, really. they're being made for a game, which may or may not be called Highway Trouble 2.

His jump is rather lackluster, I would add a frame before he jumps up in which he crouches to give the jump a more powerful, energized feel.

is that any better? the reason why I didn't add frames like that originally was because I'm not sure how those frames would fit in a game without delaying the jump

That's better! But maybe a bit more? Since it's a quite high jump, the legs should bend a little bit more to give Mario the power he need to achive this high jump and make the animation a lot better!
