R/B/Y owned G/S/C.
Ru/Sa/Em owned R/B/Y which owned G/S/C which owned D/P/Pl hard into the ground.

Ru/Sa/E didn't really own anything other then D/P/Pl, it was fine, but it didn't really prove anything other then the fact it was meant to show off skill

If you look at it in a way, The story line of Ru/Sa/E wasn't really that great. A lot of the pokemon's names were uncreative despite the fact that they were decent looking. The point of two rival team whatevers was pointless, because you don't need two evil teams fighting against each other for domanince, Cause thats cold war feeling in the end which is pretty sad. And the point of having to get a national pokedex from another game was pretty stupid, because later in Emerald proved that it could have been done with out another game that had the national pokedex. Mostly everthing in Ru/Sa/E was done only to prove what a pokemon game could be gone graphic wise on the GBA, not gameplay wise.

So really, R/B/G/Y beats G/S/C which owned Ru/Sa/E while that owned D/P/Pl.

I rest my case.

That makes no sense at all because truthfully i could have sprited better graphics than those.

RSE=DPP > RBY > GSC

but i will admit, GSC had AMAZING features. In the feature department its:
GSC > DPP > RSE > RBY

The only problem I have is, well, look at Bronzor, Bronzong, Gulpin, Swalot, the new Rotoms, and most of generation three for that matter. The quality of the Pokemon is going downhill.

The new Rotoms are awesome, shut your whore mouth.

Their not getting lazy, creating new sprites for all the pokemons is usless, what do they get if they change the sprites for all pokemons? Most of the people would not care, only fans would notice that the sprites are different.

I think that changing the sprites for the basic pokemons is OK, from the 493 of the pokemon they change the sprites for 210, personally, I think thats enough.

And I agree with amber dawn firebaugh that the original 150 Pokemon were uncreative.
Yeah but it's kinda hard to come up with 150 CREATIVE creatures.

Keep in mind that Ken Sugimori made all the first 150 Pokémons, the main characters, and some more from the newer generations.

I think the people saying the first gens were better are just suffering from "Good 'Ol Days" Syndrome (note: not an actual syndrome. I don't want a five paragraph lecture on how you suffered syndromes as a kid.), because face it, things will always seem better ten years ago or when you were a kid.

And on Gamefreak getting lazy, it's just a question of getting the most profit out of the least effort, which is what we all strive for anyway. As spriters, we reuse sprites in animations whenever possible, and as programmers, copy-paste the code where needed. Why exert more effort if a minimal amount of effort brings you big bucks?

Well, it looks like I was just repeating what everyone was saying, so ngieughhh

Ain't that the truth? Especially the lawnmotor rotom.
I'm not kissing up
I think Gamefreak is going downhill on the Pokemon dept. but mostly because the new pokemon look too cartoony or like they were crappy Fakemon made by my cousin. The plot for all the games, despite them all being just "Get all ___ Pokemon while saving the ___ region from Team ___" is still very good. What would make the series better is if they let you go to previous regions like they did with the G/S/C versions.

No doubt, that's why it was one of the best games for the GBC.

I agree and disagree with that. They were uncreative but very original.

I think it's because the new ones are actually more creative that makes people think they are bad, simply because they stand out compared to blue turtle, red dog, silver robot, yellow rat, etc.

Now we have things like Rotom or Deoxys that just arn't "Electric Ball" and "DNA" but are a little harder to describe in that aspect.

it has more to do with the fact that people are never satisfied imo

a band tries something new, and they're selling out
they stay the same and people hate them for it

a tv show goes a different direction with a new season, and people hate it
they make the previous seasons exactly the same as the first, and people call the show boring and unoriginal

a game makes something that isn't completely generic and people call it unoriginal
they try going back to what they did the first time, and people claim "they've seen it all before"

They were original since they were the first generation...

This. It annoys me when they think that the series is going too far from the originals, but it's not really going anywhere. It's still the same core thing, and it's still fun in the eyes of the people that still play.

Maybe it's just that I haven't gotten enough time to appreciate them yet. I still despise that fan Rotom. >Sad

The new rotoms are epic, And all the forms have MOTORS in them ROTOM is MOTOR backwards,
Fridges have fans, Fans have motors, Ovens have fans, Lawn mowers have motors, And washing machines have fans. It makes sense to use them.

New pokes are creative, And gamefreak isn't getting lazy, Ken once said he has over 500 ideas for new pokes. And 500 isn't running out of ideas o.o

Palkia is based on the dragon of chaos, A not well known legend, Of a dragon who ruled space o.o

Okay have I proved my point? No, designs aren't getting lazy they are getting more creative.
To even further my point let's create a first gen pokemon right now.
It's name will be Puppound. It's a doggie. It is normal type, and looks like a golden retriever puppy, but anime style. It has 2 tails and a round jewel on its head.

Ta-da!!

Now shut the fuck up.

Yeah, thanks for being an absolute asshole for the sake of being an asshole. You aren't proving your point any further by filling your post with an awful sarcastic tone and making me feel as the biggest retard in the world.

Now, whenever did I say they were getting less creative? I said the designs were going downhill. But not because of lack of creativity, but rather because they just aren't attractive overall. I mean, to me, they just look awful. Sure, Squirtle is a blue turtle and Rattata is a purple rat, but at least they don't look hideous. For example...

Lickilicky is just really, really ugly.

Probably the most unappealing legendary ever made.

What were they thinking...?

):

Admittedly, there's a bunch of really cool ones. But for the most part, I have been unable to grow attached to these Pokémon. Mind you I love RSE a lot, and there's no single Pokémon in the first three generations I openly dislike with flaming passion (except for Deoxys, that bastard). It might just be me, but I see most people agree, including some pretty die-hard PokéFans. I mean, I love myself some Starly and Snover as much as anybody else, but the fact the IV Generation was more like "let's add more legendaries, create a god of pokemon and give half of the first two generation similarly worthless evolutions!" caught me off-guard.
Keep reading, bookworm.
Someday the words will grow off your eyeballs.
Someday you will understand what it is you feel.
The poke of reality will strike like thunders in a tea cup.
