Don't have that game, Even though I use my ps3 I hardly pay attention to the games for it, since Only really striking ones grab my attention.

I also happened to get minecraft today for no reason, and now I'm left with 5.00 USD left over from the money I got for winning a bet.

I've had it for a couple weeks, and while I do enjoy the multiplayer, I would like to play with someone I "know". Partially because I'm tired of playing against players in Japan and lagging like shit (though that was to be expected), but also because team-based modes can be... aggravating.

Oh right, Platinum's newest game, that has Jack from MadWorld in it. That game looks sweet. But yeah, sorry, I'm gonna wait 'til it's released here before buying it. It looks awesome and I love Platinum but importing games is a bit out of my price range. So is it actually pretty good? The multiplayer's competent? Is the main campaign co-op by any chance?

I personally love the game so I'm going to write a lot about it.

The campaign is... okay I guess. It's only about 4-5 hours on Normal, and in my opinion got a little tedious a couple times. It's probably the easiest way to unlock the characters though. And no, it's not co-op. However, throughout various story missions you're given the choice to play certain characters, and when you beat the whole campaign (or maybe only a stage, I don't remember), you unlock a stage select which lets you play through stages you've beaten with any character, which was a nice addition. Really, this is only useful for unlocking abilities/finding concept art/getting platinum on each mission/etc, but is still a nice feature.

In multiplayer, there's a ranking system which works kinda like any other ranking system in games like SMNC. Once you get enough XP, you rank up etc and it's just to show off how much you've played the game/how good you are and all that stuff. However, at various ranks you can unlock various things, and you can actually unlocked all the characters this way too. So if you don't feel like playing the campaign, you don't need to at all. There's a good variety of modes and maps, and the ATE (action trigger event) system keeps the game pretty fresh. Even when I'm lagging (which is nearly all the time because Japanese servers), I still manage to usually have fun with the game... usually. If you don't feel like lagging, you can always play any of the multiplayer modes with semi-competent bots, though this rewards no XP. There's a nice variety of items you can use during a game as well, like a barrier that acts as a constant shield, a sniper rifle which can take out characters in pretty much 2-3 shots, and a dueling thing that when equipped initiates a one-on-one duel between you and someone you hit, just to name a few. Some of the modes get as simple as a 16-man (I shit you not) Battle Royale, Team Deathmatch that has two teams of 4 fight each other, and a Cage Match which pits one person against another in a completely undisturbed environment. Then some of them have more depth to them, like a Team Battle which is kind of like the Team Deathmatch except each player on each team is given a role (such as a Medic which has to heal and regenerate friendlies by holding up an OA system) based on their performance and must try to kill the enemy Squad Leader as much as possible, and Deathball which is basically a traditional "get the ball into the goal" except with a little more to it.

There are also 18 total characters, 16 if you don't count Bayonetta and Gargoyle, so you're bound to find someone you like.

In short, campaign is okay, multiplayer is fantastic (in my opinion at least) but you're probably going to lag due to Japanese servers unless you have friends to play with.

Seems kinda pointless to import a mostly multiplayer game so yeah, I don't have it.
Not sure if I'm going to get it either as online gaming isn't really my bag (does it have good local multiplayer?), will no doubt drop in price quickly and as much as I love Platinum I'm still not sold on the idea.

I don't really see how it's pointless. You can actually play every mode with decent bots, so if you don't feel like lagging at all then there you go. Not only that, but there's quite a few American players, and most of them are looking for other Americans to play with too.

My own "issues" play a role in me importing it as well. I was following the game for a good year or two since I loved the idea and I loved how half of the roster was Madworld characters. When I found out it had been delayed until July, I thought nothing of it. I could wait until then, and my birthday is in the middle of July which was even better. Then I heard that Sega was delaying the American release until March of 2013, and it kind of pissed me off because I was waiting for the game to come out for a while. The game was already localized and everything, and yes I know Sega did it to see if it'd help out sales but I doubt there's a bunch of games coming out in the next few months (and also apparently a bunch of games are coming out around the American release date) so I thought the delay time was a little ridiculous. I didn't feel like waiting over half a year to get it, so I imported it.

And no it doesn't have local multiplayer at all which I found to be both strange and disappointing, but oh well.

If it's not your cup of tea, then that's fine. The emphasis on multiplayer is pretty heavy, so it's probably not for you if you don't like online multiplayer.

Wow that's ridiculous! Talk about a delay. Eh I'm not getting it, I just think it's terribly unfair.

All this Ubisoft/Wii U news about their 'original" Wii U titles not being too much of an investment seems to hint at Rayman Legends being a Wii U exclusive... making me nervous.

And March 2013? Wow that sucks. So in the UK that'll be out around.... hmmm.... never I'm guessing. I liked MadWorld, but well - I didn't think it was brilliant, so MadWorld characters being in it doesn't do anything for me. I just thought it looked kind of cool and Platinum tends to make good games. Lagging doesn't sound fun, but by March 2013 there'll probably so much out I want this just isn't going to get a foot in. The chances are I'm never going to pick this up now. If you're a fan I really can't blame you for picking it up - that delay is ridiculous (reminds me of my Cube days, got an American one as was so sick of how long Nintendo games took to get a PAL release). Thank god PS3s aren't region locked.

It's great how something this stupid can be so hilarious. What's funny is I actually want to play it now.

You actually can, too. Because it's an actual game on Kongregate (the video has a link in its description).

You need the Unity distributable though.
