Texturing model. Need help now!
#1
I'm in serious trouble guys I've made my model and created a few UV sets right? But whenever I try to assign the textures I made it won't show up on the UV texture editor! When I hit 6 on my keyboard the object is just white.

I'm on a dead line. What should I do?

Oh by the way, here's the maya file and textures. See if I screwed something up. If so is there anyway to fix it?

Yes I know its a crappy model, but its only my second one. Anyway please I need help. Thank you.

There. Attachments aren't good for things like that.

I um, haven't worked with models enough to know what the problem is, but I'm gonna move this to Model Discussion so that someone will see it and can probably help faster.

I'm a primary maya user. It sounds to me like you had an issue with the model being assigned to the incorrect UV sets. There are a few things you could try to fix this is you run into it again.

1.) I like to assign a standard lambert shader with a color of green or blue to see if a new shader wil work. If it does then assign the color to your texture. If it still doesn't show then it's a UV issue.

2.) sometimes you can duplicate an object by hitting cntrl + d and then assign the texture to that.

3.) in the UV texture editor window try deleting unused UV sets. You cna also go abck in time to a incrimental saved version that has good UV's paste that in to your scene and doa UV transfer to the current model.

hope these ideas help if you run into the problem again.
