VC Black Screen Problem (Z, A, 2 method does not work)

So ya, when I try to open up Super Mario Bros. on the VC, I get sound, but no picture. I tried using the Nunchuk Z, A, 2 method in the Operations Manual Screen and still nothing. I am using an HD TV with Component Cables, which I heard may be the problem.

What can I do without having to switch back to Component cables?
