I think it would be interesting if Quinn, considering his downward spiral, ended up sacrificing his own life to save everyone elses, or sacrificing his live to save Deb's or something like that.

Who wants to bet that the intern is actually Dexter's half-brother (his biological mom and adoptive dad) who is also a serial killer for some reason or another and is trying to pick up where Brian left off?
It's obvious that he's using the babysitter to get close to Dexter in the same way that Brian did with deb.
In the last episode it'll be revealed that the intern is evil and killing people and in the next season, Dexter will team up with Brian to take intern guy down. This [somewhat] justifies the Brian arc only lasting one episode this season.

interesting, but I doubt that they'd go far to make the intern a serial killer for a plot twist.
I can see the half brother thing given that he has the hooker's hand from season 1 and he showed Dexter a bit of his video game.

Fanfics? It's pretty obvious that he's got a boner for Dexter.
Brian acted basically the same way toward him and the fact that not only does he have the hand but also brought up the BHB to Dexter himself shows that there's gotta be something else there.

There's definitely something up with him.
He's making a game about serial killers and he's collecting serial killer evidence.
If the writers seriously let this go unnoticed then they have no idea what they're doing.
All that aside, the fact that he's trying to get so close to Dexter and including the BHB in his game makes it pretty obvious that there's more to him than just a simple game developer.

The only way they can redeem this is if something happens to made Dexter flip his shit and go back to being hardcore like he was in Season 1 and 2.

Intern confirmed for sketchy, not like it was a surprise.
Heavy on the foreshadowing there.

I had serious doubts at first, but the episode ended up being a better than i thought it would.
deb having feelings for dexter almost felt like it made sense, which is more than i would have asked for before this. i hope that it isn't used legitimately, though; i hope its more a matter of deb misapplying feelings and feeling super-fucking-vulnerable.
this doesn't mean that the overall quality of the show isn't decreasing, though.

I'm tired of dexter constantly screwing up and having absolutely ZERO repercussions for anything he does.
All those innocent people he killed (it's at least five, now...) will never come back to bite him in the ass.
That call he made to Miami metro from his own cell phone without masking his voice? Guess they conveniently weren't recording those.
It's like the writers don't even give a shit anymore.
