Arc Rise Fantasia - Blender help?
#1
I'm ripping a bunch of Arc Rise Fantasia models for myself, and I thought about you guys.

Then I remembered that you guys don't accept models in any proprietary formats. Bummer.

So, I've been viewing the models I've ripped with Brres Viewer v1.2 and...exporting isn't working out for me at all. I can't import the .md5mesh into Blender because the import script doesn't work for me (blender 2.56, and 3 different import scripts, all with the exact same error on the exact same line). I also tried 3D Object Converter v4.6, and it says that both the .md5mesh and .psk formats that Brres Viewer v1.2 exports are invalid!

I'd really like to give these models to you guys. Help? Sad

You can try this out for importing PSK's into Blender. If you want weighting though you may have to use a different program.

Awesome. That worked out well, but now I've got to fix the UVs. Does Brres Viewer not export those right, or am I just screwing up?

There just isn't a good way to import them with Blender directly I don't think unless this works well. You could also use this with the 3DS Max trial and export from there to Blender.

That works out perfectly. I actually have 3dsmax, I just avoid using it cause it sucks up my pc resources like nothing before!

So, what formats do you guys like? obj? fbx? dae? How about all three? Also...how does one go about submissions? I understand this isn't really the forum for it, but I'd rather not make a whole new topic when I've got one right here!

Ah well that works then. And sure, include all of those formats if you like. The textures should be in .png though. As for submissions, you'd just make a thread with the game name in its title and in the appropriate console section. Make sure to have links to the rips in your post as well as icons if you have them. You can check out the other threads there for examples.
