Serious discussion of Current Consoles (PS3, X360, Wii)
#16
I can get a blu ray player for cheaper than a 360 which is the cheapest console atm, so really I dont need a PS3

You can get a Blu-ray player cheaper then a PS3? Erm... proof please?
Viva Pinata is an awesome game, but for kids? I don't think so. Maybe that's who it targetted but I 'd like to see a kid actually get any where on that game.
As for online and all that - I simply don't play online. I have 2 brothers and all my friends are close - if I want multiplayer I invite them round. You can't beat sitting on a coach beating your mates and Smash or Mario Kart.

As for the GTA IV trade in thing, the sixaxis can be turned off and I have nothing against the PS3 shoulder buttons. I think they work better for driving but suffer when used as the trigger button for FPS etc.

I simply haven't been bothered too look around. I simply asked for proof, I didn't say "no you can't" - sorry if it appeared that way. Yes kids can play Viva Pinata but the fact that the second one is being worked to be more child friendly shows the first one was probably a bit too difficult for the kiddies.

Heck I own all 3 consoles but I like the PS3 the best. I'm not saying my answer is justified - if we went on "facts" the 360 would robably be the best with most good games etc. but that's just how it is.

Upon going google and searching Blu Ray players(pages in Australia only) -> clicking top link -> copying and pasting the top one.

Then i went onto the australian ebgames website

PS3's are 699$ brand new
650$ preowned

$499 - $699

I see a 200 dollar difference.
And I can get even cheaper blu ray players if i looked around more.

in the US at least, PS3 is $400 and I have yet to see a blu-ray player listed at less than $350.
spending an extra $50 for the game console is worth it.

honostly, i think the wii packs the most fun because you really get into it, but it has the worst graphics of the 3. The PS3 has THE BEST graphics but the games....well that's another story. The Xbox 360 has the middle-best graphics and has mostly shoot-em-up games. So i would rather get a Wii out of the 3 because you really get into it and have lots of fun, plus you can play old classics on the big screen!

JCV, The only things that'll make the Wii good is the WiiMotion+, WiiSpeak, and this. (Which really, the last thing isn't gonna happen)

The innovation that is the motion controls, the IR, and emulating old games legally already makes the Wii great (though MotionPlus's promised 1:1 tracking can only improve the experience).

Holy crap that looks awesome

and I don't see why Nintendo shouldn't do it. I mean, it shouldn't be hard to come up with a headband that contains a sensor bar that could override the original sensor bar, and then have it come with a camera that serves like the first Wii remote in that video.
