knowing anatomy is always a plus. It doesn't even need to be from books; just pose yourself in the mirror or see other people's movements to get the idea; try finding proportion 'thingies' in your body (the hand can cover the face, the arms end in almost the same height as the crotch, etc). You need to observe.
