wat.

The D-Pad is fine for me on the 360, since I can stick my fingers in between the directions. It even feels like it is rotating.
But why would you use that?
It's such a downgrade from a Joystick.
Besides, swirling is the fastest method of specials and isn't a problem.
I barely hear of anyone using the D-pad for their fighters.
Especially fighters like SC and Virtua Fighter.

I find the 360 controller easier to maneuver.
Especially with the bigger buttons and indented D-axis.
And the shape fits to my hand a bit more than a PS controller.

And the internet is full of 10 year old shit talkers.
On both PS3 and 360.

Button mashers and Skill Spammers?
That's extremely common.
On both PS3 and 360.

But they're is more players with skill than those without.
On both PS3 and 360.

If you want competition, then ask for it.

Go on Gamespot boards or something.
There's always a challenge or some sort of flamebait there.
thats because SC4 is a babby fightin game
play a REAL fighter, one with input specials like SF4, Blazblue, Marvel VS Capcom 2 or even Mortal Kombat on either dpad or analog on the 360 and get back to us on how well that works out for you ok

oh and do tell us how the players online treated you. were the majority total dicks or pretty cool guys?

thats your homework for next week young man. let us know how that all works out.

edit: oops i spam skills

I play old-school SF2 on the 360.
And I have all a bunch of fighters for the PC, where I use my USB 360 controller/PS2 USB controller.
Like all 360/PS3 arguments, it's a matter of preference and the 360 controller is mine.

And since I'm not mic-spamming or playing like a 10 year old, no one's really being a dick. The only time I hear dicks is on L4D or something when someone gets Jock-Blocked.

SF2 doesn't require complicated button inputs like SF4, Blazblue, KOF, etc, because its combos are a lot simpler and don't require loads of effort to chain them together

SF4 is kinda the same to an extent but a lot of characters are a little more complicated

blazblue and KOF you don't even want to fuck with with a free-floating analog stick like the 360/PS3 controllers unless you practice a LOT-- it's either dpad or gamepad for those two, unless you're both fast AND accurate with the control stick. and that takes a lot (and i mean, a lot) of practice to play even decently with it.

most "serious" fighter gamers, you'll find, are using the dpad or an arcade stick-- and if they're using a dpad, they're most likely not playing on the 360. whereas people that are a little more "casual"/don't bother to chain together combos in fighting games, are using the 360's dpad with no problem, or are just using the analog stick.

it's entirely possible to have a "different preference" and that's perfectly okay, but it's pretty much a fact that most people abhor the 360's dpad.

seriously, I like the 360 controller a lot more than the ps3 controller, but the 360's dpad is terrible

e: and I don't know much about fighters but if they play better with a dpad then they're better on the ps3
pkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

It's not a fact, it's an opinion.
If it was fact, I wouldn't have brought it up.

Maybe on your end people like the PS3 one more,
but not on my end.
It's the complete opposite.

it's a fact that most people

you may know a group that thinks the complete opposite, but the general consensus agrees that the 360's dpad sucks-- even 360 owners, as shown above.
