i'm talking about the fact that in a game like zelda where the central aspect of the game is swordplay (well, aside from the puzzles and shit) and probably 3/4ths of the game is you swinging your sword alone, it'll get tiring quickly having to swing correctly 1:1.

Paraphrasing; I use games as an escape and to relax. I would much rather hold a stationary controller in my hand than to exert myself by flailing around.
Not that I'm lazy or anything, but I'm generally opposed to motion controls, especially when they're CONSTANTLY being used as they will be in Zelda.

At the very least, they could easily put in classic controller support and use the 2nd analog stick as the aiming for your sword, and you can be just as accurate.

you don't just swing your sword. you throw bombs too.
but honestly, have you ever played a zelda game, it's not just swinging your sword and with motion plus it'll be a lot more fluid motion.
you do so many other things in a zelda game, your sayin that 3/4 of the game is swinging your sword.
you dumb.

and anyway, 1:1 control can make for a way deeper combat system, which zelda never really had. especially in twilight princess.

you have got to be kidding me. yes you are lazy if you prefer stationary controls over movement. having full control over the movement ALLOWS for more possibilites in gaming. this is the exact reason WHY my generation is gona be lazy Defeated because people like you (not 100% ment to be offencive) want controls that allow you to sit on your ass instead of move on your feet. i feel supremely offened by that post
on a side note me (and my mother XD) are gona get this 100% XD (my moms a die hard zelda fan lolz)

I really don't get all the VS-hating in this thread. This does look like it'll be a fun game, no doubt, but the thing about motion control is that it's a flawed premise from the start. Human motion is very inexact to a computer. Go ahead, crack open your DS and open Pictochat, try drawing a straight line.

Classic controller support would be fantastic, but I doubt it'll happen, because Nintendo likes to be stoopid about its motion control.

I just hope it doesn't turn out to suck as furiously as Spirit Tracks.

form where you're sitting at your computer, begin flailing your arms around wildly as if you're swinging a sword
do this for two hours straight

was that fun?
no?

that's what you're going to be doing with zelda though

i'm judging motion controls in general
i used the same argument for the wii version of twilight princess, and it was correct

thats why i bought the gamecube version

I bought both versions of Twilight Princess, so I could see the difference between them and how the motion controls were in Twilight Princess.
Also quit dissing the motion controls, until you actually play the game yourself.

jesus christ
I thought the whole argument over the motion controls were over with

Like I said before I will end up buying this.
I don't mind the cel-shading at all really, In fact I see that as a huge plus for this game. Makes it feel so much more closer to what OoT and MM were. to where as WW was too chibi oriented and TP being too realistic.
Personally I want to try the motion controls myself, I just want to see how much they have improved it.
