[NSFW] croc dance on a chikorita

One of Chikorita's abilities involves using her leaf as a flexible sickle as well.

and some of the moves imply it being used as a blade as well. go figure.

here's what would b helpful though, instead of telling me "it looks wrong", which is something i concluded several days ago, how about actual suggestions on how to fix it? and specific ones too.

cause all i read is various reasons why it looks wrong, several which contradict each other (although not from the same people), and really, that ain't helping.

i keep trying to guess what it's implied that i should fix, but getting tried of playing that.

I would say that the leaf is limp and flexible, until it's required to be bladelike, at which point it stiffens.

Because you're using the leaf as pseudo-hair, it would make sense for it to be flexible, no?

Quote:it shouldn't be that jumpy, it should flow like a leaf actually would, not get whipped around and then somehow freeze for 2 or 3 frames

you can cut stuff with something as flexible as a paper sheet. go figures.

we told you what to fix, and how it should be fixed. the motion and flow of the leaf needs to reflect the motions and flow of the body. take a bit of fabric and move it like it moves in your enimation, and you'll get a rought idea of what to do.

being more specific than that would be making an edit but that would already be doing the hard work for you. it isnt that hard, come on.

Welp, I took 2 leaves and played with them around for a bit.

Realized a couple of things.

1- leaves are way bouncier than i thought, only the bounce i made when she stands comes close. it's only wrong cause it's too long.

2- the leaf itself is very very stiff, what does move is the part connected to the branch.

Then i watched some clips of the show, and the leaf is even stiffer than i thought most of the time, it acts almost like a limb really.

I'll make changes whenever i feel up to it.

Maybe if the leaf was behind the head and swayed more it'd look more natural.
