Pokemon pretty much belongs to Nintendo and they are pretty fickle about what goes to where. So no, a PC Pokemon game is very unlikely as it defies Nintendo in every which way.

Fickle as to where it goes? I'm not too sure about that.

There's a difference between applications/ educational software, and REAL Pokemon games.

EDIT: Here's another reason not to jump the gun, this is Pokemon International which handle all non-Asia Pokémon operations, it is said that all they have ever been in charge of is brand management, licensing, marketing, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the animated TV series, home entertainment, the Pokémon Trading Figure Game and the official Pokémon website, outside of Asia.

Also koopaul, if Nintendo and the Pokemon INC managed to shit out a bunch of things like Anime and TCG from one game, then a MMO is possible.

MMO's generally have the ability to expand outside Asia. And you keep forgetting that this is a producer position. He would would not be making a game. It's very possible that he would be over-seeing the localization of a game. The localization of a PC/web-based game. And that is what Pokemon Company International also does.

Its not the fact that you think this is an MMO, its because you think it will be an MMO on a PC. Which is highly unlikely that Nintendo will allow them to produce a major Pokemon title on a PC.

Keywords... "Major Pokemon title" "on a PC"

This is Nintendo, do you think its likely that Nintendo would make a New Super Mario Bros. PC? Kirby PC? Wario Ware Clicked?

I can imagine Nintendo allowing them to make something small for the PC. Maybe something that interacts with their new system. But not a straight up full fledged game on the PC.

Its not going to happen.

That's a pretty half-assed comparison and you know it. Mario, Kirby, and Wario are all something that would never benefit from being placed on a PC. Pokemon, on the other hand, has everything to gain from being on a PC. And the fact that it's going to be on a PC is confirmed, whether it be an MMO or a different main-game Pokemon game. If it was going to be just a little watered-down Pokemon game would they really scour the internet for a producer? I mean, do you really see Gamasutra job ads for Facebook games?. They are making a big PC Pokemon game. If you want to bury your head in the sand I won't stop you, but fighting the inevitable is pointless.

And if you're going to quote the part where they only need 2 games as a way to say it isn't big, they're talking about large-scale games not little indie games.

Nintendo's not a bunch of 120year old WWI veterans who shout war stories at you.
I think they are perfectly capable of letting a pokemon game being made for the pc.

"all something that would never benefit from being placed on a PC"

That's not the point. Even if it did benefit the franchise, Nintendo would not release it on the PC.

Just think about it. This is not a third party company that can go around independently putting their titles on whatever platform they want. This would be like Pokemon on the 360 or PS3.

I don't know what this means or what they are trying to do. But I am certain that it is not a major title.

"Nintendo's not a bunch of 120year old WWI veterans who shout war stories at you."

Yes indeed they are. Nintendo employees believed for the longest time that online gaming was not important, or that CD based games weren't needed (back in the N64 era). They are notoriously behind the times and stubborn as hell.

Nintendo is, in fact, a business. The PC is just another platform to sell on.

And it is nothing like the 360 or PS3. Nintendo manufactures gaming devices. Nintendo does not manufacture PC's. This is a neutral platform.

Besides, saying Nintendo is behind times is ridiculous, they came out with the Wii, motion sensing gaming device, and the Ds, touch screen gaming device. That is soooo behind the times.

This would be a first. Nintendo has shown me they only want their games released on their platform. That is what I believe. They're stubborn like that.

They're a business but that doesn't mean they'll do smart things.

Anyway that's all I'm saying. As much as I'd like a PC MMO it just seems unlikely.
