tSR Spriting Competition Rules
#1
Welcome, one and all, to the new and improved Sprite Competitions, hosted here on your very own, beloved, tSR!

Spriting Competitions will last from one to three weeks. The creator will specify, and, if the subject of the competition needs to allot for more time, he will have to judge from there.

Competitions will be made by the winner of the previous spriting competition. Competitions will start on Mondays and end on Saturdays, Monday morning being the earliest you can submit your entry, and Saturday at 11:59 PM being the latest. Voting will occur on Sundays, and it will be up to the winner to post the rules for the new competition. If the winner does not post his competition within one day, the runner up has the opportunity of posting it. If he does not make it the next day, then the staff will create the topic and we will go from there.

Competitions can deal with anything that the creator specifies. This means things such as mockups, sprites, characters, etc. However, if the theme the creator chooses is too bland or doesn't have a wide enough range of creativity, the staff can and will change the subject to suit the competitors.

After the deadline has been reached, someone (we do not really care who, but we're more interested in the competition creator posting it) can post the voting topic. Polls have seemed to cause various trouble, so to create a voting topic all you have to do is post the images the competitors have made along with their names. If the topic isn't created within a decent amount of time, the staff will create it.

Voting will proceed. You will vote for one entry. You may not vote for yourself. At the end of the day, the votes will be tallied up and the winner shall create the new topic.

During competitions, remember these essential rules:

-Post only your own work. Any art theft, in any way at all will not be tolerated, and you will be banned, possibly permanently, from the forums.

-Be courteous. Don't outright say "this is the best entry so far!" or "yours is so much better than the others!" These kinds of posts are discouraging and make other entrants not feel welcome. Be sure to post things that only constructively help others, not bring them down.

-Pixel purity. Do not post a ten-second MSPaint drawing as your entry. This also goes for photoshop and assorted tools; do not color reduce, use filters, or anything of the like for your work. Your entries must be drawn pixel by pixel.

-Be sure to follow board rules along with these. You may not enter anything pornographic, nothing calling out/flaming another member, or any joke entries. Only one entry will be accepted, so if you plan to enter, make your entry count.

-The staff have the final say. If arguments arise, we will take care of it. Don't take it upon yourself to make the rules, especially if you're not the creator of the topic.

Stick to these rules and you'll be fine! Thanks! Smile
