I would believe it actually. I have started a few Dark Cloud custom sprites and it is very difficult to find decent reference pictures. I've never ripped any models myself, but they do have links to some tutorials here. The most applicable to this situation is probably this one here that covers how to rip from PS2 games specifically. Worse come to worse you can always set up a request on the request board. I hope that helps! I look forward to checking out your comic!
