Sonic Mars custom character Tiara C.
#2
New from SEGA, SlenderTiara.

I'll address the Chris Senn thing before getting on with the criticism. Senn's job was project manager for X-Treme - his dedication to the game had taken such a harsh toll on his body that he was given two options by a doctor: continue working on the game and die, or drop the project and recover. That's why we never got it - SEGA couldn't find someone to replace him and it's unlikely he wanted anyone to take the helm.

Sure, he made a few sketches for the game he was working on, I'm sure many a project manager has done that. It's not his job to make the models, though, so there wasn't any need to take a shot at him for something that wasn't his station.

Onto the model, now. The design, honestly, chills me. It's like your progress compared to the Elise model has slid backwards.

I am not sure what's going on with her feet, but those legs, oh god, those legs. I can't tell where on the model they start or end, not that I need to, I'd rather the shorts stay on. But the legs are so thin, as if atrophied through lack of, or inability to, use.

This problem extends into the torso, which I can't tell where it ends. Is the flesh tone the belly and it's surrounded by brown fur (as indicated by the collar)? If this is the case, then the torso blends in against the hair far too much. If not, why is the torso so disturbingly thin? In this light, the breasts fail to reflect on the torso and are proportionally inconsistent.

The hair problem seems to overlap with the collar - it kind of juts out, as does her top. Is she holding it over her body with her mouth? Rolling back to the hair, it's hideously jaggy and lifeless. Remember the dynamic smoothness you had with the blocks for Elise? Where did that go? I'd much rather see the blocks again than what's happened here, to be honest. Here, the back hair looks like two distinct objects mushed together in that shadowed area. I can't for the life of me figure out what the fringe is.

From the references, the yellow parts of the clothing come out from under the red parts of the clothing. Think like, a long-sleeve top being worn under a short-sleeve top.

The arms feel the most correct, but with all the questions and critique I've gone on about the torso, there's no way these work with the model.

Lastly, what's with the shadow in the gap of the eyes? Also, the head, in general, feels smushed and oblong. Look at Sonic characters, there's a general circular shape to their head.
