And, I get that they want to make it so that it's literally a kid's comedy but... when a comedy tries to be a comedy for the sake of being one it just flat out fails.
The original Teen Titans wasn't even trying to be a comedy given it's genre was more centered around action, but even then the humor played out constantly as a source of comic relief and it showed heavily through the personalities in the original show. (If I remember correctly the original teen titans was far more character driven too.
Recently I've been watching some of the HBO shows; I'm all caught up on Game of Thrones, Veep, and Silicon Valley. I've also been rewatching older GoT episodes a bit since my brother and his girlfriend just started it a couple weeks ago. Their reactions to various events, especially certain weddings, were quite entertaining.
