I no right understand post here new Icons?

Here's the gist:

• There's a competition to see who can make the most spritesheet icons
  
• However, you need to prove you're able to create icons for the resources on this site
  
• To do so, create a sprite icon similar to the one posted in the very first post using images from the resource archive or sheet
  
• If it's good, Dazz and staff will allow you to partake in The Cool Society Of People Who Make Icons For Spritesheets
  
• (i'm pretty sure it's a google group, an email address is required)
  

• Everyone who participates will receive a pink sprite icon badge
  
• First, second and third place will earn gold, silver and bronze badges respectively, visible on the forum
  
• First place will also win a boxed copy of a video game at the end of the competition (the game in question varies depending on when the contest is over)
  

Is this correct or am I misunderstanding?

That's more or less it, thanks! The only thing that needs correcting is your mentioning of it being a Google group with an email address required. Given that it's in parenthesis, you may be kidding but just in case, let me just say that it's not. Participation in the project is granted with a flag on your account here that lets you see the forms required on the main site to upload icons.

Also, people who have entered but haven't been contacted yet, we'll likely attempt to get to you guys tonight to just hold tight!
