Better than having to boot into Wii Mode and grabbing a Classic Controller every time I want to play the game.

nintendo must be making literal billions on account of people re-downloading Wii-U VC games that were originally on Wii's VC. 

I'm going to assume most people forgot that there exists a device (100% official, to boot) that allows you to transfer data from the WII to the WII U, then.

Although to be fair, I forgot that was a thing too until seeing this post.

I did that right after getting the Wii U forever ago, and Nintendo does offer a fairly nice discount if you have the Wii version of the VC game in question.

$1.50 for the ability to use the GamePad all by itself and not have to dig out a Wii Remote and a Classic Controller was worth it to me.
