Every day, shake all the non-fruit-bearing trees in your town.
You'll get 2k bells, two random pieces of furniture, 5 beehives (worth 2500 total), and up to 5 bees (assuming you catch them all) which you can sell for bells.

Outside of that, check nook every day.
