Super Mario Bros custom tileset

I meant for the proportions of the sprite's anatomy. I can't get started until I know what to change in that regard.
plus should I aa inside the sprite? (If i were to do that i would be going off my guideline of just 8 colors) or not aa at all?
Also, should I just remove the outline to the eyes altogether?
(btw i think i keep messing up the anatomy because I get a lot of my inspiration from Paper Mario)
