I think a lot of people forget that we can't just outright ban guns in America because of the 2nd Amendment (right to bear arms).

Even if the government wanted to reverse that amendment it would take a butt fuck ton of money and time to do so, and I'm sure the fuck tards and douche nozzles in the Government don't want to waste any more money then they have to for something that has been a part of this government since it started. True each state can regulate guns but it's not like they can take them off the market with out people bitching about it.
