People here don't say anything bad for the sake of it, they want to help you improve. If you follow their advice, you can end up being a lot better than where you started off.

Well that isn't true, but first impressions, man. If you come in not having read the rules, then what do you expect people to say? They will tell you to read the rules and obey them.
