It's a sad, sad world when an idiot teenager's fanfiction (revolving around an offensively obvious Mary Sue, no less) can get published and my own work that revolves around worldbuilding, characterization, and genuine emotion can't. FUCK modern publishing, it's not even about talented writing anymore. I wanna murder somebody right now.

Reminds me that normally, it's not what you can do, it's whose ass you can kiss/who you know.
